Royal Wootton Bassett Town's youth sides enjoyed a mixed Sunday, with the Under 18 Yellow and Under 16 Blue leading the way with impressive victories, while the Under 12 Yellow also battled to a point on the road.
The standout performance came from the Under 18 Yellows, who produced an excellent away display to upset North Wilts League Division One side AFC Park 4-1 in the Wiltshire Youth Cup third round.
The four-goal haul secured an emphatic cup victory and a place in the quarter finals at home against Trowbridge Wanderers Pumas as they continued an encouraging start to their campaign.
The Under 16 Blues were equally impressive, recording a convincing 4-0 home victory against Croft Junior Yellow in the North Wilts League Under 16 Division Two. A commanding performance and a clean sheet made this one of the weekend's best results as the team moved up to second in the table.
There was also a hard-earned point for the Under 18 Blues, who drew 2-2 at home against Ramsbury Youth in the North Wilts League Under 18 Division One.
The Under 12 Yellows were involved in a closely contested encounter away at FC Abbey Meads Purple. The sides could not be separated, sharing the points after a 1-1 draw in Division Six.
It was a more difficult Sunday for the Under 14 Yellows, who were beaten 5-2 at home by Croft Junior Blue in Division Three.
The Under 13 Blues also faced a tough challenge, going down 7-2 at home to Marlborough Youth Falcons in Division Two.
Meanwhile, the Under 13 Yellows suffered a 3-0 away defeat against Kingsdown Lions Red in Division Four, and the Under 16 Yellows lost 3-1 at Kingsdown Lions Black in Division Three.
There was no shortage of goals in the Under 12 Blues' Division One encounter away at HS Sports Pumas, but unfortunately Bassett came out on the wrong side of a thrilling 7-6 scoreline.
