A performance of outstanding merit in the FA Amateur Cup Competition on Saturday was that of Wootton Bassett, who in defeating Peasedown Miners accounted for a Somerset Western League team for the second time in this season's national tourney.

A goal from Cosway in the 37th minute gave Wootton Bassett their pass into the next round. He followed up to find the net after Brown had shot against the crossbar.

The Miners fought desperately for an equaliser, but Wootton Bassett's defence gave them few chances.
