Town play well despite the defeat

The Town played their best game of the season despite the fact that they were defeated by 2 goals to 1 in their Borough League match with Marlborough Camp Club at Broome Lane. In the early stages the Town were unfortunate to lose the services of Compton their right half, through a foot injury. Arthur Embling scored for the Town, whose goalkeeper (D. Whittaker) did well to save a penalty. D. Gleed, the Town's inside-left failed to score from the penalty mark.
