Bassett denied all three points with final minute equaliser

The other game on Tuesday night was at the Gerard Buxton Ground where Malmesbury Victoria Development were Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development's visitors. Royal Wootton Bassett had won their opening two fixtures whilst Malmesbury had beaten Melksham Town Reserves but had lost narrowly at Frome on Saturday. Bailey Gallagher opened the scoring with his second of the season for the home side and veteran Jonathan Davis then extended the lead from the penalty spot to make it 2-0. With less than five minutes remaining it looked like it would be three from three for the home side, but Malmesbury Vics Development staged a comeback with two goals in those final minutes. Firstly, Connor Laidlaw notched his second of the season to give Malmesbury hope of salvaging something from the game and then Jake Fortune headed in an equaliser in the final minute of normal time to make it 2-2 and the points were shared. For Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development their unbeaten start to the season now stands at three games and they are second in the early league table ahead of Saturday's trip to Devizes Town Reserves.
