Comeback win for Dev team as unbeaten run continues

Ahead of their clash with Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development, Frome Collegians received the sad news that one of their club founders John Fuller had passed away on Friday night. John was instrumental in setting up the club 45 years ago and was the club's longest serving committee member and had still been attending all games home and away at the age of 90. A minutes silence was held in John's memory before Frome's game against Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development which had been switched to the artificial 3G pitch at Selwood Academy to enable the game to go ahead. In the match itself it was looking good for the home side at half-time as they led 3-1 against the only unbeaten side in the division. Bailey Gallagher had put visitors Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development ahead with his fifth of the season but the rest of the half was dominated by Frome who scored three times, Barry Sandquest with two and Ross Knapton, with his first of the season, giving Frome that interval lead. The lead could have been bigger such was the home side's impressive first half showing. It was a different story after the break though as the visitors responded to a stern half time team talk with a spirited comeback. Leading scorer Dale Richards pulled one back before netting again for his seventh of the season to level matters up at 3-3. A last-minute winner from Charlie McCuish sealed all three points for the visitors to ensure that only unbeaten record, which how stretches to nine games, remained intact. The win saw Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development move level on points with Pewsey Vale at the top of the table, with a game in hand. Frome meanwhile remain in fifth spot.
