A great winning start to the season! Two very evenly matched teams today made for an entertaining match. We started slowly and Marlborough took the lead. We responded well though with Joe getting the ball wide straight fom the kick off. He put a great cross in and Gustavo was at hand to blast in to the net.

Daniel Carey then added a brilliant individual goal to make it 2:1. Rounding the defender and slotting home. Things got better for us at the start of the 2nd half when Joe put another good ball in and Daniel once again finished in style to make it 3:1. Joe was running their defenders ragged and but for some slack finishing from him, could have put the game out of reach.

Things then started to go wrong! Some lazy defending from the whole team saw Marlborough mount some dangerous attacks and they were soon level at 3:3 before taking the lead with 10 minutes to go. Daniel Slade was keeping us in the match but at this stage there seemed only one winner.

Harrison pushing up into midfield though changed the course of the match. First he beat his defender and put a great cross into Daniel who finished well to record a superb first match hat-trick! Harry then intercepted a pass and slotted a ball through to Joe. Joe raced clean of his defender and cooly slotted in with his left foot to grab the winner with minuted remaining!

A great team performance today with an excellent attitude, typified by Liam who just missed out on the signing on deadline, but came along anyway to support his new team.
