23 Sep 2012 - Cricklade Youth (H)

Off to a good start with Sid having a good run following a precise pass from Raisham. With no let up we had a great combination with Raisham passing to Sid who tipped it to Kai. Two minutes into the game and we were winning 1-0. This week we had James in play, and he slotted in well.

We were strong and capable and the great work continued, resulting in a lovely shot from Sid which the goalie could not have predicted. 2-0

When required Nav and Liam in defence waited for the exact moment, to protect their goal end and ward off the attack, using Lewis for a pass back when necessary.

When Cricklade broke through Lewis though cold with lack of action was on the ball and refused to let it pass. Lewis gave a tremendous kick out, Raisham took control, passing to Sid with ease. Sid with a cool and calm demeanour shot the ball into the net. 3-0 This was looking good.

Robbie seemed to be more in his game this week. Follwing the ball and running with it as much as possible. Callum partnered a run with Robbie, with Callum taking a long shot, which went slightly wide. Callum took a dislike to the new barrier and corner flags, deciding to take them down. The crowed roared with support as he took a corner.

Callum was then awarded a free kick, but Cricklade saw the danger and defended well.

As predicted from the side line, Cricklade came back from a team talk that gave them some determination. The weather was worsening and we seemed to slow our pace. Lewis was trying hard to stay warm. This was going to be the harder half. Cricklade could see our weakness. Charging through they got one back. 4-1

Cricklade were awarded a free kick which Raisham deflected.

What was happening? They seemed to be all over us!! THEY WERE !!!! THERE WERE 8 CRICKLADE PLAYERS ON THE PITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once normal numbers had resumed, we got our heads back in the game. More fantastic runs. The combinations all working well.

James had his moment resulting in great goal. 5-1. Quickly followed with another by Sid. 6-1. Could this game get any better. Yes. Kai in prime position took another shot, which just tipped over Cricklade's defence and out of the keepers reach. 7-1

A hat trick a piece for Kai and Sid, and one goal for James on his first league game. What a win.
