Sunday 27th September 2009 - Swindon Rangers 'B' (A)

It is a lovely sunny Sunday & the boys are training & warming-up before kick off.

The whistle blows & off we go, Ryan tackles & gets the ball but it goes out for a Rangers throw, Harrison intercepts & has a shot at goal but it just skims the post. Goal kick which Matthew takes well, Rangers lad gets the ball & our lads are chasing him which the ball ends up going for a Bassett throw in which Cameron takes, Hadley is on the ball & makes a lovely pass to Harrison who gets tackled & Rangers have the ball, they kick it to their player but the ball is slightly high & Cameron takes knock to the stomach (that must have hurt) but Cameron carries on playing (well done). Rangers have a shot at goal & Matthew makes a great save. George takes a goal kick & Rangers get the ball but Hadley is giving chase, gets the ball & shoots but it just misses. Rangers are back on the ball & our lads are giving chase down the pitch & Cade does a brilliant kick & the ball goes out for a Rangers throw in. Our lads have not given up & are still chasing, Ryan takes a throw in, Cameron gets the ball, passes to Harriosn who takes a shot but just misses (lots of oh's & ah's from the spectators). Ryan gets knocked to the floor but is still trying to keep the ball, Rangers get the ball but Hadley makes a great tackle.

Deflection by Ryan, Rangers miss, another deflection by Ryan & the ball goes for a throw which is headed out by Matthew. Bassett get a throw which is taken by Joe, Archie on the ball & Rangers are chasing us down, ball goes out for a blue throw, Rangers have the ball gets passed into penalty area & Matthew makes a lovely save. George takes a goal kick & the Rangers lad gets the ball & is running towards the goal, great kick by Cade as the ball goes out for a Rangers throw.

Rangers make a substitution.

As the last few minutes tick by the Bassett lads are still chasing & tackling. Half-Time whistle blows score is 0-0, but a great first half by our lads.

Whistle blows & the 2nd half is in play, Ryan takes a throw in, Rangers get the ball & have a shot at goal but it skims the post, George takes a great kick & Ryan gets the ball which he has a shot from half way line & just misses. Goal kick from Rangers, Hadley gets the ball & has a shot at goal - unlucky just misses, Rangers lad takes a knock to his head by his own player (hope he is ok) as that must of hurt, play continues & the Rangers are heading towards the goal, great tackle from George who passes the ball to Cameron who has a shot - just saved (how unlucky can we be). Goal kick from Rangers.

Rangers make a substitution.

The ball is in our half, first Hadley then Harrison (oh its a shame football has to have a goalkeeper) spectators went wild but no goal for the blues. Ball goes out & Ralph makes a great catch (think that is classed as hand ball, haha),Cameron has the ball & is trying to fight off 2 Rangers players, ball goes out for another throw in, high kick by George, Rangers get a throw in but our lads are all marking well.

We have a throw in & Joe has the ball which he passes to Archie, the Rangers are right up with them but our 2 lads keep going, ball gets kicked out & Rangers get a throw in, George chases down & gets a throw in for the blues, Cade does a great kick but is just unlucky as the Rangers lad is right behind him, they shoot but Matthew saves it again. Goal kick out & Joe has the ball, he passes to Archie who passes to Matthew, Joe aims for goal but keeper saves it. Think today is going to be hard to pick a Man of the Match as they have all played well, ball goes out, great catch by Hadley's Auntie, the match has stopped as a players laces have come undone, back in play & Joe gets the ball from a throw in, passes to Archie, Rangers get the ball but Joe gets it back & has a shot (hooray) GOAL. Great run by the boys in blue. Can see all spectators looking at their watches probably thinking blow the whistle Ref, but the ball still in play, ball ends up in the bushes & the poor Ref goes into find it, he emerges with the ball, Rangers get a throw in & our boys are still chasing them down, whistle goes & it's the end of the match. A win for Bassett 0-1 (big cheers all round).
