Bassett had the best early chance when a corner fell to Jake Kitchin but he was unable to force his shot on target.

It was Ferndale who finally broke the deadlock when on the stroke of half-time Bassett failed to deal with a long throw.

The ball fell to Jack Allen, who did well to power his header into the unguarded portion of the Bassett net.

Bassett surged forward in the second half, but Ferndale caught them on the break and Liam Gallagher latched onto a through ball and rounded Kieran Shail.

Late on a magnificent Aarron Stubbs effort cannoned back off the cross bar before Allen sealed the win with a curling finish from the edge of the box.
