Heavy defeat at FC Abbey Meads

Todays game saw Bassett travel to play top of the table Abbey Meads.

After the frustration of having the game last week postponed due to the bad weather, the boys were back in action this week against a top of the table Abbey Meads side.

The game started promising with some good play by both teams and within the first 15 mins either side could have taken the lead, clearances from Callum on the line and some good play by JD and Martin. When Danny done one of his infamous breaks down the line he was unlucky to see his shot go just wide.

Unfortunately, Abbey Meads got the vital break and found the back of the net passed the outstreached arms of Andy in goal, this was quickly followed by two more in succession to take us in to half time three nil down.

The team came out in the second half a different side, not with a change in personnel but with a different attitude, they seemed to have lost all focus and fight, and gave up too quickly. Some good clearances off the line by Louis who got a ball in the face for his reward. The opposing team found it too easy to get past the team this week of Josh, Ashley, Martin, Callum, Louis, JD, Danny & Andy, and by the end of the game the result was a 9-0 defeat. The boys have to remember not to give up, they are better than the performances they have been putting in, and the results deserve to be better than they are.

Lads – please start to listen to the coaches at training, they are there for your benefit and lets begin to see an improvement.
