Unbeaten run continues

AFC Lydiard had the better of the opening exchanges which resulted in a well taken goal on 8 minutes. Bassett then replied on 12 minutes with a superb pass from Ryan Dowse to Bradley Bancroft who coolly slotted home for the equaliser. Bassett then scored 4 goals in 15 minutes which resulted in a fine hat trick for Aidan Cressey, all his 3 goals were fantastic finishes on 19, 22 and 27 minutes, the pick of which saw him control a high ball to shoot across the keeper and go in off the post. Bradley added to his tally on 20 minutes with shot that looked to be going wide but just sneaked in past the outstretched arm of the Lydiard keeper. Bassett finished the half with a 5-1 lead.

Bassett made a number of positional and substitute changes to give players an appreciation of the roles of other team mates. From the kick off Bassett came under pressure, Lydiard managed to pull back a goal on 41 minutes but a reply came on 44 minutes from Bradley to complete his hat trick. Lydiard continued to pressurise the Bassett goal and this resulted in a own goal by Scott Millward. Bassett eventually came out comfortable winners showing guts and determination to come from behind to secure their win.

This result continues our unbeaten run to 7 games, and a measure of how well the team are performing is that this year we have played 14 matches of which we have won 12 scoring 55 goals.
