Hardest game of the season but another win

By far the hardest game we have had this season, Ryan Campbell opened the scoring on 3 mins and WBTFC enjoyed the best of the opening exchanges. The Shaw goalkeeper had a fantastic game making some vital early saves from some fine Bassett attacking play, Bradley Bancroft once again showed his lightening fast pace for the second goal on 16 mins. This goal seemed to fire Shaw up, and the game turned around to see Bassett on the back foot having to defend in numbers. Jack Deane made 4 brave saves at the feet of the Shaw attackers, and one at full stretch to keep Bassett′s lead intact. The score at half time was 2-0 to Bassett; however the game was still finally balanced.

The second half once again was finally balanced and Bradley broke free to score on 41 mins. From the kick off Shaw pressed to score a goal, turning defence into attack Bassett made 8 to 10 passes which resulted in Bradley completing his hat trick on 42 mins, Bradley finished the game off with another fine goal on 49 mins. Shaw battled all the way to the end and a couple of fine saves from Adam Kaye ensured that the Team enjoyed their second clean sheet of the season. Five nil to Bassett was not a fair reflection of how well Shaw played, this was the reason for the whole of the defensive unit being awarded Man of the match, so well done to Jack Deane, Adam Kaye, Chris Sims, Sam Davies, Scott Millward and Toby Edgington.
