Bassett were determined to put in a good performance in their first home fixture for several weeks. The first half was a closely contested affair with neither side able to find the net, although the Cirencester strike force were kept at bay on more than one occasion by an excellent performance from the Bassett keeper Scott Smedley.

The second half started in much the same vein but the Cirencester midfield began to get the upper hand and it wasn't long before they went ahead. Bassett were unable to even things up and unfortunately conceded again as they tried for the equaliser. Cirencester scored again to win the match 3-0.
