The first half opened with both sides playing open attacking football, but it was the home team who scored first. The left sided pair of Tom James and Chris Gallivan combined extremely well to leave the Liden defence stranded and earnt Bassett a much deserved lead. Liden countered immediately and were back on level terms within ten minutes and then went on to take the lead before the half time break.

Unfortunately Liden mainly dominated the second half and they were able to score several more. The home team rallied towards the end of the match but were unable to convert any of their chances. The match ended 7-1 to Liden.
