Deserved three points for Bassett U16's

After last weeks defeat by Liden the Bassett players came out in a determined mood. They played at a fast pace from the start and were rewarded early in the half with a very well taken shot by Chris Gallavan. Bassett found themselves 2-0 up with a well taken penalty from Captain Sean Leeke. Unfortunately shortly after Stratton were awarded a penalty, when one of their strikers was brought down just inside the Bassett 18 yard box. Despite keeper Tom James saving the initial penalty Stratton were quicker to the rebound and scored.

The second half was played in much the same vein, with neither team able to score. The break for Bassett came 15 minutes from the end, when substitute Tim Gleed scored after a period of sustained pressure. The match ended 3-1 to Bassett, who put in an excellent team performance and thoroughly deserved their three points.
