Bassett end season with a win

With the difficulty they have experienced in forming an effective forward line Warminster Town have not finished the season in such flying form as was hoped. Their forward line weakness was responsible for losing the match against Wootton Bassett Town by 3-2 on Saturday in their last match of the season. The visitors soon had Town on the run with long passes through the middle of the field and the lively ball movement brought them success after 15 minutes. A quiet lob by Skull caught Came badly placed and the ball ran gently into the net. Their advantage only lasted a minute, however, when at the other end Evans ran into the middle to snap up the ball and shoot into net well out of Clifton's reach. Not long before half time Smith gave Bassett the lead again from a penalty. After the change over Warminster drew level once again when Clifton hit the ball into his own goal, but the decider came later from another goal by Smith.
