The opening stages of Frome's Amateur Cup match with Wootton Bassett this afternoon were marred by rain. The visitors got away on the left-wing through Drury, who was robbed by Francis. Play went back to the other end and from a melee in the goalmouth Juices gave Frome the lead.

The home team went further ahead when J. Taylor scored with a fine cross drive and from a corner L. Taylor headed Frome's third goal.

Waite, the visiting goalkeeper, saved well from Sheppard and Parker but could not hold a grand drive from L Taylor, which went into the side of the goal.

Sheppard got Frome's fifth after Waite had partially saved a shot from Juices.

In the second half Juices (2) scored for Frome, and Embling and Drury for Wootton Bassett.
