Under 18s share points in six goal thriller

Despite going 3-0 in front after just twenty minutes, Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 18s were ultimately held to a 3-3 draw after a valliant comeback from visitors Melksham Town.

A trio of headed goals from Rhys Farrow, Sebastian Smith and Michael Gilder got Bassett off to a flying start.

But they were pegged back before the break as Billy Hawkins steered in following a corner and Aron Byfield swept home from the penalty spot.

Hawkins then scored his second of the game after the restart and, despite having the better of play for the remainder of the game, the visitors were unable to snatch victory as Bassett held on for a vital point.

With the result, Bassett remain six points behind Melksham with two games in hand ahead of home and away fixtures against both FC Chippenham Youth and New College to finish their season.
