Wootton Bassett Blue v Tetbury

The blues began the defence of the cup with a tie against Tetbury. The game started quick with both sides trying to play football passing and moving well.

Jack Langcaster made the first goal for us when he shot from just inside the box. The ball hit the cross bar and bounced down, the keeper managed to push it away but unfortunately the ball hit a defender and rebounded back into the goal.

Ben Chin, playing against some of his former team mates scored a second goal when he made a run past the full back and was found with a defence splitting pass and he coolly took a touch and rolled the ball past the keeper into the corner.

Ben scored his second goal when after some pressure in the Tetbury area the ball came across and he looped a header back over the keeper and defence into the corner.

Dave made a fantastic save when the Tetbury attacker broke free and was through on goal but Dave spread himself well and saved the ball with his legs.

Shortly after Billy scored to make it 4-0 when his cross / shot from a wide angle flew over the keeper into the far corner.

Half time came and we were 4-0 up.

We won a corner which was put to the back post and Adam reacted first to the loose ball and poked it home to make it 5-0.

Dan earned himself a goal when he hassled both the defender and keeper into a mistake and he pounced on their loose pass and slid the ball into the net.

Billy and Dan both got a second goal each to end the scoring.

Tetbury scored a goal themselves from a similar move to the first half where we let the attacker free and from his one on one with Dave he managed to side foot the ball past him to get a goal.
