11 May 2014 - Swindon Town Ladies (N)
Facing Swindon Town Ladies - a team playing three levels higher than Bassett - in the Wiltshire County Women's Cup showpiece, Becky Gammon's team were always going to be up against it.But despite losing 7-1, her Wootton Bassett Town Ladies side put in a solid performance.
Two early goals for Swindon from Michelle Rich threatened a rout, but Bassett then stabilised and it took until the half hour mark for Swindon to go three in front when Beth Thompson netted. Sally Butterfield then made it 4-0 just before half time after Sarah Humphries did well to push out a Rich shot.
Much to Bassett's credit they continued to fight after the restart and soon grabbed a goal of their own courtesy of Sam Wood, who fired home after getting on the end of Laura Jefferies' free kick.
Two quick fire goals from Swindon around the hour mark made it 6-1 as Ellie Maynard and Thompson scored headed goals. Thompson then netted her fourth and the team's seventh shortly before full time.
