Great football from a team way ahead of their time. Today there was two football games being played at a football pitch in Swindon, I bet the best team to watch was the teams in blue and yellow, and not the adults across the way. Some of the effort today was only bettered by some of the passing up and down the pitch. Be it from the defence, through the midfield to the final third there was really some sublime football to watch. Our opponents today Penhill were as good as their position showed, but at the end some of our lads were of the mind of " well if thats the best our league can offer......." Penhill were a good team to play against..........on the whole they did not go for the cynical side of the game, and we showed them that being clever, and using the space on the pitch can be to our advantage.

Matt Catt, Archie and Luke did ever so well today, and Ryan was not really bothered apart from speculative shots. The defensive lads cleared the lines, and did more than take the physical challenge to Penhill, with some great runs and passes to split the Penhill midfield wide open.

It was so hard to have the likes of Harry and Luke on the sidelines, because where do I begins to look for weaknesses to justify a substitution. Yes we were a bit too respectful in the first half, but we soon got on with the job in hands. To encounter a good goalkeeper (again) really did not do us justice, any other and we would of had a sackful.........because all of our front and midfield players got shots at the lad between the sticks........Two goals from Beefy Botham and Ben King, dragged us back from two goals down, and gave us a draw to remember.

We have a cup, and a friendly to play in the next few weeks to time to lower the blood pressure a little bit..................DO tell your lad that he did well today, because he deserved it.
