Bassett lose in debut for new kit

This game was the first for a new kit, sponsored by Aftech Sheet Metal Ltd and in goal for new signing Gemma Bliss who's last club was Chippenham .The first half started brightly for Bassett when they took the lead through Jenna Mcfadzean who scored with a low shot from a tight angle. The lead was short and from a corner a brave header in a crowded goal area gave Chippenham an equaliser. Again Bassett took the lead through Jenna this time she beat her marker firing a shot into the top corner. Bassett were on top at this point but were unable to take advantage of their pressure and Chippenham caught Bassett with a quick break and equalised again. Chippenham took the lead from a corner when poor marking left an attacking player with a tap in.

Half time Chippenham 3 Wootton Bassett 2

Where Bassett started brightly in the first half the opposite could be said about the second half. A Chippenham player ran through three poor tackles to score and give Chippenham a 4-2 lead. This early goal gave Chippenham a lift and with Jenna being very tightly marked it was one way traffic. Chippenham ran in two more goals to make the final score 6-2 .
