The first league game of the season for the U16 at home to Chippenham town turned out to be a very even game. With both defences holding firm chances were very few in the first half. With both keepers only making one save each from long range shots its no surprise in the Half time score was 0:0

The second half was very much the same as the first with no clear opportunities.

And both teams were working hard on defending there goal. The first goal of the game went Chippenham's way on 20mins from a corner taken from the right .The Bassett defence got caught ball watching as a corner was headed back across goal for a tap the unmarked Chloe Giles .The goal made the tempo of the game go to another level and made for a very exciting last 10 minuets. Bassett pushing hard for an equalizer but still only have long range shots. With 1 minuet remaining Joni Warner went on a maize run beating three Chippenham players leaving her self just the keeper to beat. And she did so, hitting a low shot into the bottom right corner of the goal.
