There were six clashes between Wiltshire and Somersetshire teams in the extra preliminary round of the FA Amateur Cup Competition on Saturday and the Moonrakers came out on top in four of them.
Probably the most outstanding performance in these inter-county battles was that of Wootton Bassett who, behind at half time, hit back to defeat the strong Peasedown Miners Welfare side by the odd goal in seven.
The match was a personal triumph for Scull who scored all four goals for the Town, performing the "hat-trick" in the process.
Scull neutralised an early goal from Wallis, Peasedown's inside-right, and got a second after Evans and Chandler had carried Somerset side's total to three. He scored the two goals in the second half.
