Royal Wootton Bassett Town Ladies overcame a 2-0 half time deficit to defeat Almondsbury UWE 3-2 thanks to Hayley Huckin's second half hat-trick.
A dramatic, last minute, comeback victory ensured Royal Wootton Bassett Town Ladies' win streak was extended to four games as they beat Almondsbury UWE 3-2 in a crucial pre-Christmas encounter.
Hayley Huckin was the Bassett hero as she netted all three of her side's goals in the second half after they had fallen behind 2-0 in the opening period against a side who entered the game in second place in the league.
While Bassett still sit in fifth place in Gloucestershire County Women's League Division One despite their win, the result means they keep the upper hand in what is a tight four team battle for second spot behind runaway leaders St Nicholas Reserves.
They are currently three points behind Forest of Dean, who currently occupy that position after being awarded their game against Cirencester Town Ladies.
However, holding three games in hand over Almondsbury and Forest of Dean and two over AEK Boco Development - teams Bassett have seen off in their last three fixtures, Becky Gammon's side are in a position where they can make second their own and build a cushion, assuming their outstanding form continues into the New Year.
