Five star Development team sweep aside NALGO

13 Apr 2013 - NALGO Wanderers (A)

A Mishittin Aras hat trick inspired Wootton Bassett Town Development to a 5-0 victory against NALGO Wanderers. The win - against the side Bassett will meet in the Fountains Trophies Junior Cup final - secured a top four finish for Dave Terry and Wayne Petrie's team.

In what was the team's best performance of the season, goals from Aaron Dainton and Adam Turner completed the thrashing sealed a vital three points against a team who came into the game full of a confidence following a 3-1 triumph against champions-elect Madames in midweek.

Bassett, third in Wiltshire League Division One, are now four points ahead of NALGO, who possess a game in hand. The final game for the Development team is this Wednesday when they travel to take on second place Ashton Keynes.

FC South Marston's late withdrawal means runners-up spot is likely out of reach for Bassett. But if they can secure a top three finish, it - along with the cup final on 4th May - will cap off what has been an outstanding debut campaign for the young side.
