A Jake Kitchin brace inspired Wootton Bassett Town Development to an impressive 3-0 triumph against NALGO Wanderers. The three points lifted Bassett into fifth in Wiltshire County League Division One.

Beginning the day five points behind and two places below their opponents, a difficult afternoon was expected for Dave Terry and Wayne Petrie's young charges, especially since NALGO were unbeaten in their last nine fixtures.

But a strong performance was rightfully rewarded, Kitchin's pair being complemented by Lewis Petrie's fifth goal of the season.

The game marked the halfway point of the newly established Development team's campaign. And they have had a great start to life, boasting a winning record in the league, with victory against leaders Madames securing progress to the last four of the Fountains Trophies Junior Cup too.
