Goals from Lewis Taylor and Craig Smith booked Wootton Bassett Town Development's place in the final of the Fountains Trophies Junior Cup as Marshfield were defeated 2-0.

It was a fantastic performance from start to finish for Dave Terry and Wayne Petrie's young side, with Bassett – who beat Wiltshire League Division One champions-elect Madames – in the quarter finals – worthy of their place in the showpiece where NALGO Wanderers await on May 4th.

It's the third time in the club's history that one of its teams has made it to the final of this competition. In 1984/85 and 88/89 the reserves made it all the way before coming unstuck against Oldacre and Walcot respectively. This year's Development side will therefore be looking to go one better and secure some silverware in their first year of existence.

This season has been quite a year for the team. Hopefully it will continue to get even better.
