Bassett off target in visit to Peasedown

Peasedown paved the way to victory in the first half when they gave an improved display in this Good Friday game, but the visitors missed a penalty in the second half, and, with more accurate shooting, might even have shared the points. The Wilts side started promisingly but eventually Peasedown settled down and began to attack. For the visitors, Pryor should have scored when he had only May to beat, and Allen was robbed near the goal line as he was in the act of shooting.

Mitchell opened Peasedown's score after 30 minutes and they went straight through from the kick-off score again with a good shot from Boulton. Peasedown increased their lead early in the second half when good play by Allen led to Boulton heading into the roof of the net. After this the visitors showed much more thrust, but their shooting was weak. Right-half Miller missed a penalty, but Lehane eventually scored to reduce the arrears.
