Wiltshire Mental Hospital did most of the attacking in the early stages of their home cup-tie in the FA Amateur Cup with Wootton Bassett this afternoon. When Rose shot the ball was nearly carried into the Wootton Bassett net by Drury, the left back.

Winchcombe shot wide, and almost immediately afterwards sent in an effort from short range which Waite, in the Wootton Bassett goal, saved in splendid style.

Wootton Bassett startled the home defence by a sudden breakaway, but the move ended in a goal kick. Blagden also had a shot to deal with from Fry, the Wootton Bassett left-winger.

After the play had gone to the Wootton Bassett end again, the visitors once more made a rapid attack. Blagden ran out, the goal was left open, and Beazley ran in and scored for Wootton Bassett.

The Mental Hospital tried hard, and a good move by the forwards took them well up the field but Rose shot across the goal. Soon afterwards Winchcombe equalised for the Mental Hospital. A few moments before half-time Fielding gave the Mental Hospital the lead.

Excellent combination between Rose and Fielding was wasted when Rose shot wide, but the same player struck the post with a shot soon afterwards. Embling equalised for Wootton Bassett.

Offer, Rose and Fielding scored for the Hospital in the second half.
