Abbey Meads v Yellows......what a comeback!

The Yellows went into this game in buoyant mood considering their win the week before. However this was soon short lived when Abbey Meads started the game with a very high tempo and found themselves 3-0 in a short period of time.

However the Yellows showed real strength and then started to play good football and defend resolutely. Their reward was an award of a penalty when an Abbey Meads player handled the ball in the area. Alex Roberts stepped up and coolly slotted the ball into the corner. This only helped to increase the Yellows tempo and a second goal came quickly with a goal mouth scramble and Alex Roberts was there again to tap in from around a yard out! As time creeped towards half time, the ball was passed to Benjamin King who found himself out towards the right hand touchline. With a wind assisted cross/come shot, the ball flew over the Abbey Meads goalkeeper and into the top corner to equalize. Just before half time, Thomas Morrisey completed the comeback and made it 4-3 to the Yellows.

The second half was not so exciting in terms of goals but the Yellows proved they can defend as a team as Abbey Meads kept pushing for the equalizer, the only thing not thrown at the goal was the proverbial kitchen sink!

A great performance from the Yellows to now make it 2 wins on the bounce.
