This was the first match in the Wiltshire League since the 14 Nov 03, and that was against today's visitors Devizes.

W/Basset started well creating a number of chances, and this was the pattern for the remainder of the first half with Bassett dominating possession. Although Bassett were dominant they found the Devizes keeper in fine form, this coupled with some poor finishing meant that the score remained 0-0 at 20 mins. Then a move started down the right hand side and a fine cross from Johnstone was met Thomas who put the chance away 1 - 0 Bassett. The match restarted and with the half time whistle fast approaching Bassett piled on the pressure and this paid of when Spalding added a the second, Half-Time 2 - 0.

The second half was much the same as the first with Bassett dominating and reducing Devizes to very few chances. The only difference this half was that Bassett started to finish the chances they created. It was 3 - 0 when Johnstone finished just after the restart. Then an individual effort from Brakes made it 4 - 0 with 20 mins to go. Bassett continued to outplay the opposition and from a corner got goal No 5 with an OG from a Devizes defender. Johnstone scored No 6 and her second with a strong run and powerful shot. Reynolds got on the score sheet to make it 7 - 0 and add to her tally for the season which now stands at 23. Reynolds also had a hand in goal No 8 with a fine defence splitting pass to Cox who comfortably slotted home. Basset continued to apply pressure for the remainder of the half , and debutant Cook was unlucky not to score on her first outing, the match finished 8 -0. Overall a fine performance from Bassett who now look forward to next weeks match against Chinnor in the Oxford League on the 06 Dec 03.
