Top match of the day in the West Division took place at Chesnut Springs. In an excellent game of football played in a very sporting manner, visitors Wootton Bassett took the lead in the first two minutes of the match. It remained 1-0 at the break. With Shaw playing down hill in the second half they began to dominate and equalised early in the second half. The game remained a tight affair and Alec Daley nearly put the visitors back in front when put through one and one against the Shaw keeper. The keeper pulled off a fine save and the ball was cleared down the other end of the pitch and Shaw scored within 30 seconds of the save. This was the turning point of the match and Shaw added a deserved third to go top of the league.
