Heavy defeat for Bassett

Jess Pomfret hit her first ever hat-trick as Chippenham Town Ladies returned to league action with their biggest win of the season on Sunday 19 January. Jo Ashurst she scored from the penalty spot in the first minute, and leading scorer Seb Everson made it two after a run and cross from Tash Perry. Harriet Titcombe bagged the third after 12 minutes before Pomfret grabbed her first with a powerful run and shot into the roof of the net. Ashurst, Everson, Pomfret and Titcombe all scored again before the break. Jan Reynolds pulled a goal back for Bassett in first half stoppage time, following up to score after her penalty was saved by Becky Powell.

The Bluebirds extended their lead a minute into the second half when Pomfret lobbed home to complete her hat-trick. Titcombe followed suit two minutes later, and Becky Prangley scored on the hour with the aid of an upright. Pomfret then netted her fourth after a corner and Perry was rewarded with her side's final goal.
