Bassett U12s booked their place in the next round of the County Cup with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Marlborough at home.

It was arguably one of the most dominant 1-0 wins you could see, with the girls producing some outstanding football despite the challenging pitch making clear-cut chances difficult to come by. Annabelle scored an absolute peach to get the ball rolling in front of goal, however no more goals were to hit the back of the net despite the dominant performance.

We experimented with a back three, a formation that could prove useful at different stages of the season, and the girls adapted brilliantly, looking solid defensively throughout.

Annabelle was deservedly awarded Player of the Match by the opposition for her excellent performance, while Katie received our Player of the Match award after making her debut and showing great bravery in wanting to get on the ball.

Well done to all the girls on a fantastic cup performance. They thoroughly deserved their place in the next round!
