Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 14 Blue pushed Swindon Supermarine White all the way in a closely fought Wiltshire County Cup final before ultimately falling to a 2-1 defeat.

Supermarine struck first when William Smith headed in from a corner as half time neared.

Seth Moore then doubled their lead from the penalty spot shortly after the restart.

Bassett were still in the game though and Phanuel Asenso cut the deficit to just a single goal when he equalised with a penalty.

Although Bassett pressed for an equaliser, Supermarine held out to claim the cup.

While it's never nice to lose in a final, Bassett can be proud of their achievement in making it to the County Cup showpiece.

And the Blues have now achieved honours in each of their three seasons of competitive age group football, having won the North Wilts League Division Two title two seasons ago before finishing as Division One runners-up last season.
