Royal Wootton Bassett Sports Association are seeking a volunteer to take on the role of Chairperson.

With the the Sports Association's Annual General Meeting fast approaching on 18th March 24, RWBSA are looking to identify a volunteer to take on this important position.

The role involves:

Providing leadership and coordinating RWBSA activities to ensure that appropriate policies and procedures are in place for the effective management of the Association;

Providing support to the Association Site Manage and elected Officers of the Association, volunteers and bar staff as required;

Chairing the RWBSA Executive Committee meetings every two months according to the constitution and ensuring that matters are dealt with in an efficient and effective manner;

Chairing the RWBSA Annual General Meeting;

Being a member of the Business Management Team, a group of co-opted members who meet every two months, are responsible for developing business opportunities, setting budgets and managing site operations.

All the above tasks require only limited effort and will typically be about a couple of hours or so a week, but it is obviously dependent on how involved one wishes to be.

In support of the Chair role, the RWBSA have an excellent Site Manager and enthusiastic supportive volunteers within the Association who undertake various roles from management, maintenance to cleaning, all giving freely of their time.

The role of Chair is not limited to someone who is currently an officer of a Member or Affiliated Club of the Association.

It can be someone totally independent but who has the best interests of the Association at heart.

It could be argued that a Chair devoid of any personal club interest could be considered the ideal, bringing a truly independent approach to the role.

However, RWBSA are looking for anyone who has the capacity and enthusiasm to take on the task.
