Volunteers sought for Committee and Matchday roles

Tuesday 13th October 2020

Volunteers are sought to take on the role of Club Welfare Officer and Club Development Officer, while helpers are also requested to assist with the running of the stadium kiosk on senior matchdays.

RWBTFC Welfare Officer

The Club Welfare Officer is responsible for making clear the club's responsibilities when running activities for children and younger people and to help other club personnel understand what their duty of care towards children and young people involves.

To undertake the role, the Club Welfare Officer must have an FA-accepted Criminal Record Check, and also complete the FA's Safeguarding Children and Welfare Officer workshops. The club will support any volunteer interested in this role in acquiring these.

Those interested in the role are invited to contact Secretary Ian Thomas and Head of Youth Section Mari Green by email.

In the meantime, any individuals with welfare concerns should raise these to either Mari or Ian, who will be receiving support from the Wiltshire FA.

A job description is available and can be shared upon request.

RWBTFC Club Development Officer

The Club Development Officer is responsible for identifying and delivering football training programmes within the club's coaching team.

The Club Development Officer will also be tasked with supporting and building links with local schools, other FA Charter Standard clubs, the Royal Wootton Bassett Sports Association and its other member clubs

It is essential that individuals interested in the role are: good working in a team; have the ability to produce strategic documents, work plans and to meet deadlines; possess sound communication skills; and are prepared to volunteer time at evenings and weekends as required.

Those interested should also ideally possess a proven track record in football / sports development and possess an understanding of football development initiatives introduced by The Football Association.

Anybody interested in the role is invited to contact chairman Andy Walduck by email.

A job description is available and can be shared upon request.

Matchday Kiosk Volunteers

Due to the circumstances of the pandemic, Gordon Reeves – appointed a club Life Member in 2019 – and Karen Avery, who have performed a superb job running the stadium kiosk at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, are unfortunately unable to continue in their roles.

The club is therefore seeking volunteers to cover their absence and help with the sale of food and drinks at senior section games.

The role will require individuals to volunteer time on Saturday afternoons and some mid-week evenings, when senior section matches are taking place.

Anybody interested in the role is invited to contact chairman Andy Walduck by email.
