Royal Wootton Bassett Town Development created a cup upset in the quarterfinal of the Wiltshire Senior Cup with a well earned 2-1 home win over Jewson Western League Division One league leaders Calne Town.
Bassett's stunning upset win came after having lost to Calne's Reserves side 5-0 in a league fixture back in September and after a three game run in which Bassett had fallen to three defeats an failed to score.
But Mark Simpkins' side bounced back in style to record a fine win.
Ryan Withers had given Bassett the lead in the first half.
Sam Francis then equalised for Calne midway through the second half but Flynn Walters immediately restored Bassett's lead and ultimately secured the 2-1 win to see Bassett through to the semi-finals.
Bassett are one of two Wiltshire League teams in the final four, joining Wroughton with Western League sides Devizes Town and Warminster Town also one win away from a final appearance.
