A super start to the season from Bassett. We dominated the early play and took full advantage, scoring after 10 minutes with a well worked goal from John Spence. Not long after, Alec Daley scored a fine goal to make it 2-0 . We kept at them with a header just over the bar from Sean Miles and a free kick from Dom Gordon that hit the underside of the bar.A moment of indecision gifted Stratton their first goal and much the same for goal 2. Half time 2-2.

By now the temperature had risen to 26 degrees and the boys were slow out the blocks at the start of the half and we found ourselves 4-2 down 5 mins into the half!!

Rather than give up, the boys got a drink, pulled up their socks and took the game to Stratton, making chance after chance.10 mins later there was a scramble in the box and Vince Tapster hit the net to make it 3-2. We piled on the pressure even more now and got our just reward with a classy goal. A free kick from just inside our half was fed out to Ian Hunt on the right wing, fed to Ben Taylor on the edge of the box. He passed it to Sean and it was lifted over the defense to Alec who buried it!! I am very proud of the boys for a superb comeback and a great team performance.
