Bassett Ladies fall to first defeat of the season

Wootton Bassett Ladies fell to their first defeat of the season to local adversaries Swindon Town Ladies Reserves. It was a poor first half performance which saw Bassett under pressure for much of half and were lucky to go in at half time at 1 – 0 down as Swindon spent most of the half camped out in Bassett's halve of the pitch and only managed one attempt on goal when Emma Williams who scored 6 last week could only shoot over the bar from 6yds out.

Bassett started brighter in the second half and put pressure on the Towns goal and drew level when Becky Poole was up ended in the box who calmly converted shooting to the left of the stranded keeper. However Bassett could not captalise further despite some concerted pressure and became a little deflated when Town took the lead for the second time in the game. Bassett tried to press on but town were lifted by the goal and regained control of the game scoring twice more leaving Bassett to reflect on their most disappointing performance of the season.
