Honours even but a game that should really have been won

The official Swindon & District League game against Stratton's second team had seen a much better performance from Bassett and it was a match Bassett should really have won, having led 3-1 with only five minutes to go. In the end Bassett had to settle for a draw following a couple of late defensive lapses. Bassett had gone in front thanks to a goal from Phillip Forster. Stratton then equalised but Bassett continued to dominate play and scored two further goals through Dean Wason, his fifth of the season, and Peter Willis.

Josh Dimond had an excellent game in midfield for Bassett, winning lots of tackles and making good use of the ball, as did Phillip Forster. Daniel Strange and Stuart Smedley looked solid at the back until the closing stages of the match when Bassett started to get overrun in midfield when Phillip Forster was no longer on the field. With hindsight the game would probably have been won if he had not been taken off hence the manager takes the full blame for not winning this match!
