Poor first half from Bassett

The second match against Westlea was the opposite of the first match. A poor first half saw Bassett turn around 4 goals down at half time. Despite fielding what on paper looked a very strong side. Bassett were all at sea in the first 25 minutes having no shape and failing to produce any passing moves. If it had not been for the heroics of Tom Holmes, making his debut in goal, the half time score would have been a lot worse. The second half saw an improvement in Bassett's play but again it was Tom Holmes who was Bassett's best player, although another debutant, Matthew Smith also played well in this half and was unlucky not to get his name on the score sheet.
