Royal Wootton Bassett Town Under 14 Yellow were an unstoppable force as they finished the 2024-25 season as unbeaten North Wilts League Division Five champions.
Bassett dropped just two points all season, winding up 17 points clear of eventual runners-up Wanborough Juniors.
The team displayed a killer instinct too - recording numerous crucial, narrow victories.
That instinct was clear from their opening three games which saw Bassett defeat Liden Community Lions 4-2 and Marlborough Youth Falcons twice at home by a single goal (4-3 and 2-1).
Bassett did then seal bigger away wins, beating South Cerney Tigers 8-0 and Wanborough Junior 4-1. They then dropped their only points of the season in a 2-2 home draw against Liden.
Nine consecutive victories followed. A 5-2 home win against South Cerney and 12-1 away triumph at Stratton Juniors Panthers saw out 2024.
Bassett then began 2025 with a 4-1 home victory against Liden before they edged out Wanborough by the odd goal in three.
Big wins against South Cerney (6-3) and Stratton (13-1) brought Bassett within touching distance of the title. And that was secured with a gritty 3-2 triumph away at Marlborough Youth.
With the championship in the bag, Bassett did not slow down - and they rounded off the season in style, recording their second and third clean sheets of the campaign with home wins against Stratton (10-0) and Wanborough (3-0).
