Royal Wootton Bassett Town are proud to have been awarded the status of a Kick It Out Equality Chartered Club.
The Kick It Out Chartered Clubs scheme is part of the anti-discrimination organisation's efforts to spread its message in the amateur game and encourage as many grassroots clubs as possible to support the fight for equality in football.
And as a club we are proud to support this fight by signing up to the Kick It Out Equality Charter.
As signatories of the Kick It Out Equality Charter, Royal Wootton Bassett Town commits to:
Adhere to the equality, inclusion and discrimination guidelines set out by Kick It Out. We are committed to ensuring a safe environment for all participants by applying equality, diversity and inclusion in our day-to-day operations.
We will promote awareness of the benefits of equality, inclusion and diversity with a clear understanding that football belongs to and should be enjoyed by anyone who wants to participate in it.
In activities we will not discriminate or treat anyone less favourably on the grounds of age, gender, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marital status, race nationality, ethnic origin, colour, religion/belief, ability or disability. We will not tolerate harassment, bullying, abuse or victimisation of any kind and will assure the correct reporting procedures are actioned if any of the mentioned does occur under our supervision. We are committed to taking action where inequalities exist.
We will take a stance assuring good practice is encouraged internally and to our sponsors, partners and the wider community.
As part of our commitment to the eradication of discrimination in football and the promotion of equality, inclusion and diversity, a minimum of one member of our Executive Committee will be fully educated on the procedures around reporting incidents of discrimination – including through the club's appointed officials, the Wiltshire County FA, the Kick It Out website and app.
As a club we also assure that we will:
Appoint an equality lead who will be responsible for staying up to date with methods of reporting, diversity and inclusion and regulations, and assuring all incidents regarding discrimination are handled amicably. Head of Youth Section Mari Green will initially take on this important rol.;Ensure the equality lead attends an initial training workshop delivered by Kick It Out;Encourage all our club members to take a pro-active stance in the fight against discrimination;Take all reports of discrimination seriously and alert the appropriate organisation(s) immediately;Have clear and precise instructions via all our outlets on ways to report discriminationTo find out more about the club's approach to tackling discrimination and ensuring equal opportunities for all, members are invited to familiarise themselves with the club's Equal Opportunities Policy.

Kick It Out is English football's equality and inclusion organisation.
Working throughout the football, educational and community sectors to challenge discrimination, encourage inclusive practices and campaign for positive change, Kick It Out is at the heart of the fight against discrimination for everyone who plays, watches or works in football.
A small independent charity, the 'Let's Kick Racism Out of Football' campaign was established in 1993 in response to widespread calls from clubs, players and fans to tackle racist attitudes existing within the game. Kick It Out was then established as a body in 1997 as it widened out its objectives to cover all aspects of discrimination, inequality and exclusion.
Internationally, Kick It Out has close links to FARE Network, and has been cited as an example of good practice by the Council of Europe, the European Commission, European parliamentarians and the British Council.
