Update on 2020-21 North Wilts League season

Sunday 14th March 2021

The North Wilts League have now published its proposed plans relating to the 2020-21 season, which impacts upon Royal Wootton Bassett Town's youth section sides.

As part of this plan, the league intends to resume the season in April, and play to a finish by 31 May 2021.

For teams in the Under 7 to 11 age groups, all remaining fixtures will be development fixtures.

For teams in the Under 12 to 18 age groups, it is intended to finish the league season.

Where teams still have to play each other twice, it is possible that 'double header' games will be scheduled. These will be scheduled in order to reduce the number of midweek games required.

Parents and guardians are advised that it is possible games will be scheduled for the Easter weekend - the first weekend of the anticipated period after which it is possible to resume organised football.

The North Wilts League's full press release announcing its plans can be read here.

Fixtures for each youth team as they currently stand have been updated on our website. Please note these are liable to change and the club will endeavour to update these at regular intervals.

The season restart is still dependent upon the nature of the guidance received from the FA, which it is anticipated will be released within the next two weeks.

This guidance will also impact upon all football activities, including training and matches, for the club's youth teams. Once this is known, the club will update its Risk Assessment and Method Statement where necessary and communicate this information to members.
