Annual General Meeting - Sunday 23 August

Saturday 8th August 2020

Royal Wootton Bassett Town's Annual General Meeting will be held on Sunday 23 August at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground. The meeting will begin at 6.30pm.

The meeting is open to all to attend. However this year due to restrictions related to Covid-19 and the need to maintain social distancing within the clubhouse, there will be a limit of 35 attendees. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Attendance is actively encouraged as it is a chance to shape the future direction of the club.

Club accounts will be presented, while reports will be given by current Executive Committee members. Officers, committee members and auditors will then be elected before objectives for the 2020-21 season will be set.

The full agenda and nominations for officers is available here.

Update (Saturday 22 August)

Following a football club AGM review last night and again this morning it has become apparent that restrictions brought upon us by Covid-19 could be breached this Sunday which will be unacceptable.

The Sports Association can only safely hold a maximum of 60 in the entire bar and function areas and with the previous instruction issued first come first served we will break this limit very quickly. We could have 100 members turn up only to be turned away, or attempting to queue - this is just unsafe.

With this in mind we would need to limit a maximum of 1 member per age group. This along with the club's Life Members and existing Executive Committee members means we will easily reach our maximum of 35. This is not ideal by any means but in the current climate feel we have no choice.

We will follow with communication through social media and the Junior Management Meetings.
