Cup success for Under 15 and 18 Blues

Monday 16th September 2019

This week's fixture list was the beginning of some of our youth team's seasons, while also being the second game for many other teams. There were some mix and match results. Plenty of goals were scored but that hasn't necessarily meant plenty of victories!

To start, the Under 18 Yellow team are now officially unbeaten in their first two games this season. They beat Wanborough Juniors Yellow a whopping 6-2 away from home in the first round of the North Wilts League Cup. Adam Carter, Tom Warren, Ben Evans, Matt McDonack and Kanin Rai were on target for the Yellows. An own goal completed their tally of six.

The Under 15 Blues were also victorious in the cup as they played away to sibling side, the Under 15 Yellows. They beat the Yellows a cracking 5-2 to progress to the next round. We would like to wish them the very, very best of luck in their next cup fixture, which will be against Division One side Robins!

In league action, the Under 14 Yellows bounced back from last weekend's loss with an outstanding 4-0 home win against Stratton Youth. Patrick Otoo-Mensah scored a superb hat-trick, while Ewan Painter also scored.

The Under 14 Blue side drew 2-2 against Wroughton Youth Panthers, which gives them their first point of the season.

Despite scoring three cracking goals, the Under 13 Yellow side unfortunately suffered defeat at home against FC Abbey Meads Youth Blue, who scored seven. Finlay Marshall secured his third goal of the season already, while Finley Lavender and Jayden Rowland bagged themselves their first goals of the campaign. Next weekend they face Ferndale Rodbourne away from home in the North Wilts League Cup second round, which we wish them the very best of luck in!

Despite getting off to a winning start last weekend, the Under 16 Blues suffered defeat to Swindon Supermarine away from home. They were narrowly beaten by one goal to nil.

The Under 12 Blue side suffered defeat at home to AFC Newbury Whites, losing 2-0 in a very close game of football. Their sibling side, the Under 12 Yellows also suffered defeat as they lost narrowly to Cirencester Town Gladiators 3-2 away from home.

Reilly Plumley scored for the Under 14 Whites in a 5-1 home defeat against Lydiard Millicent Juniors. Meanwhile, the Under 12 Whites were beaten heavily by Swindon Supermarine Blue.
