Royal Wootton Bassett Town, who drew their first preseason friendly 3-3 with Western League side Radstock Town, have further boosted their attacking options ahead of the 2019-20 Hellenic League Premier Division campaign.

Manager Sam Collier has added prolific forward Callum Parsons and promising youngster Rhys Talmash to add to the riches he has available up front.

Parsons joins from Highworth Town, for whom he scored ten goals in 21 Southern League Division One South appearances last season. A thorn in the side for Bassett over the years, he represents a significant capture. Indeed, he'll be best remembered to those at the club for scoring five goals for Highworth against Bassett in a Wiltshire Senior Cup quarter final two seasons ago.

Talmash, meanwhile, arrives from Chippenham Park where he was top scorer last season with eleven goals. Boasting great pace, the former Forest Green Rovers Academy player also has experience in the Wiltshire League with Melksham Town Reserves and Westbury United Reserves.

Bassett's midfield options have been bolstered too with the capture of experienced playmaker Jon Davoile. He appeared 37 times, scoring three times, for Hellenic Premier champions Wantage Town, helping a team earn promotion for the second season in a row having been with Highworth in 2017-18.

Also signings is promising young full back Tinashe Gwavava. A composed defender, who enjoys getting forward, he arrives from reigning Thames Valley League Division One champions Newbury.

A host of familiar faces have once again put pen to paper at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground.

Seasoned veterans Steve Yeardley and Tony Joyce will once again inject experience into the squad. Yeardley made his 500th Bassett appearance last season, while Joyce will be entering his third season with the club.

Midfielder Gio Wrona, Bassett's leading appearance maker in 2018-19 and Manager's Player of the Year award winner, has re-signed as well.

Powerful centre half Adam Corcoran, who is five games away from 200 Bassett appearances has committed too.
