Royal Wootton Bassett Town Football Club are delighted to announce that it will be hosting an SSE Wildcats Girls Football Centre, beginning on Saturday 4th May.

The sessions, open to all girls aged 5 to 11, will run weekly on Saturday mornings from 9 to 10 am.

They will take place alongside the club's current Free Saturday Skills Sessions – open to boys and girls aged 4 to 13 – on the AGP pitch at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground. In 2018, these community football sessions received the prestigious Wiltshire FA Community Project of the Year in the inaugural FA and McDonald's Grassroots Football Awards.

For more information about the club's SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Centre please contact Community Football Coach Mark Ellis.

The FA and SSE launched the Wildcats Girls' Football initiative to inspire girls aged between 5-11 to be involved in football. SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Centre provide girls with regular opportunities to play football and take part in organised sessions in a fun, engaging and safe environment. Over 1,400 centres have now been established nationwide.

Each SSE Wildcats Girls' Football Centre is run in conjunction with local County FAs, utilising qualified coaches and local facilities to offer girls a location nearby where they can get involved.

SSE Wildcats Girls' Football has been established in partnership with SSE, supporter of girls' football participation and sponsor of the SSE Women's FA Cup, with support from UEFA, FIFA and The Youth Sport Trust.
